Florida Peer Education

Florida Peer Education logoFlorida Peer Education is a project funded by the Florida Department of Transportation through the Department’s Highway Safety Grant Program. The Florida Peer Education office, which is located at Tallahassee Community College, coordinates the FLORIDA SADD program. SADD is an acronym for "Students Against Destructive Decisions."

The primary focus of the Florida Peer Education program is traffic safety, including preventing underage drinking and impaired driving, encouraging seatbelt use and driver training, and discouraging speeding and running red lights. In addition, the Florida Peer Education office assists SADD chapters in addressing issues such as drug use and abuse, tobacco, violence and suicide. The Florida Peer Education office provides free educational and programming materials to registered SADD chapters.

The Department’s State Safety Office is dedicated to continually improving the safety of users of Florida's highway system, in part by funding projects through the Highway Safety Grant Program. Florida Peer Education and FLORIDA SADD gratefully acknowledge the financial support provided by the Florida Department of Transportation.
