Lori writes:
As long as I can remember, photography has been a present and important part of my life. I discovered black & white photography in high school. My first SLR 35mm camera (a graduation present) was a Pentax SP. I'm drawn to black & white photography because of its raw, honest portrayal of my subjects. Though Florida nature photography is an integral part of what I shoot, documentary portraiture is my true calling … my passion. A picture doesn't speak a thousand words … it speaks volumes and volumes. You can see a person's life in their posture, their eyes, hands and shoulders. I want to capture a moment … a glimpse, into the faces and lives of the people I see around me. To capture the human spirit ... simple, straight forward, and as honestly as my lens will allow.
